Only 8 2024 EV models qualify for the full clean vehicle credit for 2024 due to strict critical minerals and battery component rules. The credit is $7,500 for a new electric vehicle if both rules are met. If you are buying an EV vehicle and think you qualify for the credit, make sure you check with the seller and get information in writing. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the EV or plug-in vehicle cannot exceed $55,000 for sedans and $80,000 for vans, SUVs, and pick-up trucks.
